«Sun’s Daughter» - a piece for fujara and a set of classical musical instruments
Fujara is a bass flute, coming from Slovakia, traditionally a solo instrument played by men who play and sing. This piece for flute, fujara, viola, cello and double-bass moves freely between centuries-old folk traditions and chamber and contemporary music. This unique combination of instruments aims to explore new sonorities and build bridges between tradition and modernity. Immersive, raw, and deeply emotive, the piece beckons listeners into a realm of musical storytelling that is both expansive and profoundly resonant.

Commissioned by NKF and Music Norway.

To be premiered on September 6th2024 at Punkt festival in Kristiansand, Norway.
